Use Timer only with active admin process?

Hello,
my online experiment is to run over several days and used the timer function with automatic start per participant. The function is working properly. But in my experience, the timer works only when Admin State is "running". And obviously there is a timeout for the "running" Admin State. Can I avoid the time-out?

Hello Stephan,

The timer functionality only works if the admin process is running; since this process handles some background tasks like initializing the timer and setting synchronizations.

At the moment this task is repeatedly activated by the browser in which the “Start Admin Process” button is clicked. Unfortunately, there is no daemon, which will perform this task, so the administrator may (currently) not log out of SoPHIE and / or switch off the computer.

If you require such tool, we could evaluate if we could implement this feature wish. Please contact me directly if this would be relevant for you.

Hello Phillipp,

thanks for your offer of help. However, I have not enough experience to understand the problem. Therefore, I have another question. I work with a Linux server. Will the admin process also canceled when I start the Admin process from a separate web client (Windows PC) and me sign out then?
