Hello all - I am PhD student trying to use SoPHIE to run a simple experiment in the social sciences. I have almost no coding experience and this will likely be apparent in my question - however I'm struggling to make progress and would appreciate any feedback.

I am trying to run a simple three step experiment with a questionnaire step, followed by a survey step and then a few form choice steps, each with a single radio button. My current issue is that I am using the JS-Survey maker to create the survey step, which is on its own quite easy and intuitive. However, when doing test runs, finishing the survey sends the participant to a separate "survey complete" page, from which you cannot continue to the final step of the experiment (there is not button to continue from there).

I was able to turn off this screen by going into the settings on JS Survey Builder page and turning off the "showcompletedPage" option, but now it just goes to a blank page and still does not continue to the next step of the experiment. Even if I put the survey as the last step (which is not feasible for my experimental design, but just to try it) the participant is never listed as having completed the experiment.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I would greatly appreciate any feedback. I'm sure it would be better to avoid using the survey builder and just make my own but as I said the investment to get from where I am to where I would need to be in terms of coding ability to do that might not be feasible.

Hello aelz,

Thank you for the precise description of your problem.

Based on your description I assume, that the step is never submitted and you are not using the process api to transfer participants to the next step. As JS Survey provides a good tool to build surveys quick and easy you need to take care of saving the given inputs by submitting the form. Do you already save the input from the survey though?

We can offer to look into the problem together. Please contact us under sup...@sophielabs.com if you would like to do so.

Kind regards
Steffen
