Did you create a SoundMix? Once you create the SoundClass, the only think left to do with that is make sure your music or sound effects or whatever have the class. But to change it dynamically, you have to create a sound mix then plug that into the properties of the sound class. Then you can change it using the blueprint set up above.
Sound Classes - these are your means for applying classifications to sounds. In your case, your Master class would parent all sounds and your Music class would be a child of the Master class, allowing it to inherit properties when needed.
A typical use case for Passive Mix Modifiers is say applying a special mix state when Voice Over sounds are played. In this case, you would have a Voice Over class and then add a Passive Mix Modifier that applies special mix modifications (as listed in the Sound Mix Class array) to any number of OTHER Sound Classes.
After I posted this I started playing around with GB 6, which looks like it might be better for my needs (Podcast editing) and seems more intuitive for messing with effects, do you generally recommend one GB version over the other for use editing podcasts?
Also, and I'll likely ask this as a separate question, but it looks like you've also got a book on Logic X - Whats the general opinion of GB 6 vs GB10 vs LogicX as it relates to podcast / interview editing?
Honestly, I never was a big fan of the user interface in GB6. It had conventions that didn't follow a standard DAW interface and concept. Besides the look (which is a personal taste) GBX now follows the new Logic workflow which is more DAW-like. However, it misses a lot of features (some of them were there in GB6) which could be a deal breaker right there.
Think about a car company that upgraded their two car models (GB6 and LP9) to the newest electric car technology (Logic Pro X). Their old cheap Diesel engine model (GB6) is now GBX, similar to the big model. The downside, however, in the GBX model, they took away the stereo, the AC and no more cup holders. So you have a nice modern electric car but with some major short-comings. If you liked your stereo system, then you might continue driving your old diesel model until they add those features again. Until then, you might be happy with the old models, especially if you rely on cup holders.
No, and that is probably, why it is not in GarageBand 10.0. The funny thing is,you still can use vocal transformers and sound effect instruments, of you keep GarageBand '11 installed. The GarageBand 10.0 can will show the patches for these instruments and you can use them with some restrictions. So the code is still available.

Watching different lectures on YouTube, the problem is some of them are recorded poorly with so much noise in the background. So I've been thinking about a way that lets me first put a gate plugin (REAPER's ReaGate) and then compression (REAPER's ReaComp) on Windows 10 master audio output, so that I can control the audio in real time. In short I'd like to be able to put NOISE GATE, COMPRESSION, DE-ESSING in real time on the master output of Windows 10 audio. Yes, Windows has some loudness and eq effect built in, but they don't give me the amount of control I'd like to have. I'm using the built in audio of my Asus P5K motherboard from 2008. I've installed Virtual Audio Cable, VB-CABLE and Jack Audio, and when I switch to them in Windows Sound Settings, none of them seem to output the sound of the video being played, but when I switch to Realtek HD Audio, the sound works. But those three programs won't output the sound. I don't know where the problem is.
That's how I do it in Mac with the SoundFlower virtual audio device. I have not tried this in Windows, but apparently there is similar virtual audio device software available: -to-create-a-virtual-audio-device-and-stream-audio-input-with-it
Hi, I have a project with 5 scenes, at certain start points and click points sound will play to accompany animations. Is there a way I can have a master button / script to turn the sound off (or back on) throughout every scene if the user so wishes?
I am having trouble though - basically I have inserted sound to play as part of a timeline actions and I am not sure how I can assign an ID to each sound as I am not using html tags to contain them. Is there a way to target the sounds by their filename rather than ID?
