I am not sure what that implies. Are you saying that these special symbols will then take care of themselves in the TTF and OTF fonts and we will be able to use them as TTF/OTF? Or are you saying because they are going to TTF/OTF that this will be a hinderance?

Essentially, I open a PDF (unknown who produced it or how much it's been modified since then), but on some computers I get the error "Cannot find or create the font 'ArialMT'. Some characters may not display or print correctly.", while on others, I get no error dialog at all, but some text is just white boxes while other text (even within the same word or even just a closing bracket (i.e., ']') shows up fine:

For TrueType fonts, a ".ttf" file is required. Which Bitstream Fonts Are Supported? • the CATIA Symbols font (not in the above list) contains the symbols from Version 4 fonts.
For each of the Bitstream fonts, the following files are delivered in the location referenced by the CATFontPath variable:
  • in the Postscript folder or subdirectory: .pfb, .inf, .pfm, .afm
  • in the ExtraFiles folder or subdirectory: .ttf. Note: On Windows only, installing Version 5 also installs in the ExtraFiles environment the equivalent fonts in TrueType format. The TrueType font format offers enhanced visualization quality. The installation adds the fonts (in TrueType format) to the list of system fonts you can view by selecting the Start > Settings > Control Panel command and double-clicking the Fonts control.
Which Version 4 Fonts Are Provided? The following Version 4 fonts are supported and are installed ready for use without further customization when you install Version 5:

In the Symbol Properties dialog, you may define various symbol (or group of symbols) properties, such as fill color, font type, whether to wrap text. The Symbol Properties dialog is a non-modal window - you can edit the symbol properties and see the changes on the diagram instantly. In addition, while the dialog is active you can still work with diagrams or other dialogs.

I can't read the diameter symbol from the text editor WITH WORKING FONT (1), but the other working station can see the diameter symbols when they are using the same font. It show a * symbol when I try to input the diameter font from other font which have diameter symbol

To insert the following special characters, simply type character sequences, as shown in the table below. Character sequences will be replaced with special characters when you exit the edit mode (but only if selected font contains required symbols).
