How dos Tasmota Home Assistant Integration discover new devices?

Hi,

I managed to read a power meter with modbus (ESP8266) and wanted to inject some data in HA via mqtt.

I was thinking to use the Tasmota integration in order to feed data to the Home Asistant, to somehow fake a tasmota device in my network... like a power meter

With the Mqtt explorer, I see that there are two topics per device

1- tele\Device_Id

with three messages (LWT, STATE and SENSOR)

2- tasmota\discovery\Device_MAC

with two mesages (config and sensors)

I tried to build the same structure of messages (copying the messages and changing ID's and MAC) with my ESP. The appear published in the mosquito broker,  but they did not appear in the TAsmota integraton at HA as a new devide.

I am wondering what else I need to send in MQTT in order to be recognised as a tasmota device

Thanks Philip,

Yep, I was looking there, but as Tasmota is a third party integration of homeasistant, it is not supported by them , and couldn't find many topics on Tasmota... (I assumed that it was developed by Tasmota community)

Will check there.

Tasmota just feeds into the HA eco-system based on the HA discovery system – they just match what HA is looking for.
