Hi fellows, I just flashed a single Sonoff Basic using Tasmota.
Using the webinterface I can turn the relay on and off from my computer - so firmware seems to work fine.

Now I'd like to switch the device on and off using my smartphone or tablet - but here I run into trouble. Can't connect to the control interface using Firefox mobile. Is there an App for Android which is able to connect to a tasmota-flashed device in a quick and simple way?

Try to connect using the internal IP address. Androids tend to ignore the local DNS of you router.

What do you mean by internal ip-address?
As far as I understand the device only has one single IP.
And that one works on my computer, but not on my Android device....

MQTT Dash shall work, but I couldn't connect it to my Sonoff Basic. Always gat a "connection failed". MQTT seems to be configured well displaying the info-screen on my device.

What device is your broker working on?  What home automation system are you using?

I use Node-Red as a client to my MQTT broker as both the automation controller and to present a web interface that any smartphone can log onto and drive the system.  See my instructable for details:

I have both broker and Node-red on a Raspberry Pi - but they could be elsewhere and on different machines.

We have just covered all aspects in our guide Domoticz Tasmota: Control Sonoff without Internet. Have a look on to it. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us anytime.

I use MQTT Dashboard on my S8, it has 3 widgets, one of which is a switch widget so I can have an button icon on my homescreen that sends the commands to switch my sonoff on and off.
Unfortunately it doesn't have a subscription widget as well.
