Hi, I have a Sonoff S26 smart plug that I flashed with Tasmota v9.4.0 around May this year and it has been working flawlessly since then up until today.
So today I was unable to access the device as it was no longer on the network. I have checked the router and it is not listed. The button on the front of the Sonoff turns the mains socket on and off as it should.
I don't know where to go from here. Is there any way to put it back into WiFi setup mode as if it had just been flashed or should I just try re-flashing it.

Any advice would be very welcome.

Thanks

How many devices on the network, have you experienced a power outage which may have caused a reset? Look at the recovery options page and it will explain the different ways to recover but first see if it has created an AP.

Thanks for the advice.

There's probably around 40 - 50 devices on the network with probably a 50/50 split between wireless and wired. However that has always been the case and there have been no additional devices added recently. There certainly haven't been any power outages recently that I'm aware of and certainly none of the normal indicators like digital clocks that need resetting etc. However that does not mean that there haven't been any momentary blips that are not long enough to upset the clocks but could upset more sensitive equipment but once again there have not been any indications of this.
I've already checked if it has created an AP but it hasn't so that's out.

I was looking for recovery options but I couldn't find anything on the Tasmoto site. However after you suggested it I did another search and I have now found it so thank you for that. I will go through that and hopefully gewt somewhere.

I will let you know the outcome.

Many thanks for your advice.

Ok, quick update.......it's all working again.

I followed the advice on the 'Device Recovery' page. The first option to hold the button for 40 seconds did not work so I ended up doing the 'Fast Power Cycle Device Recovery' option and after this the device appeared as an AP and allowed me to setup the WiFi again.

Thanks again for your help and advice.

Many routers have a limit of 32 (or even 24) devices on wifi. They then 'ration' access. Tasmota needs to check NTP and MQTT on a fairly regular basis. If it misses a few times because of the rationing it thinks it's at fault and tries to recover.
I initially solved my problems with an old router in 'bridge' mode and created a separate SSID for IoT devices. That worked until I hit the limit on that too. I now have a mesh system and moved some of the devices over to ZigBee (using Tasmota2ZigBee). They tend to be temp/humidity sensors, PIRs and lights/sockets which are only used once or twice a day.
