My house's electrical system is brand new(2015) and we have electronic relays for lights, so in the wall we have push buttons(monostable) instead of the classic light switches(bistable). I tried everything, but I can't get the Sonoff with the Tasmota firmware to accept the push buttons in our wall as if they were the onboard button. The Sonoff expects a bistable switch, so the light only comes on if we hold the button down. Is there any solution to this? Am I missing something?

What are the settings in your config input?

Look in wiki for Tasmota - switchmode.. you want button. (toggle)
Or create a rule so everytime GPIO14 fires, the output toggles

I soldered a pushbutton to a classic sonoff and it worked without problems.
