Upgrade path probs.. Resolved.

Just a heads up on issues i had, now solved with upgrading some(lots) of older devices running ver 4,5,6...  

Following the documentation upgrade path I hit a snag at V7,2,0 or progressing past..

The archived files had the extra .gz compression wrapper, and when attempting to upgrade from the standard bin or the minimum bin or the lite bin or any straw clutched resulted with a failure

tasmota upload failed magic byte is not 0xe9

although the docs direct you to point at the .gz file i found downloading and unwrapping with 7-zip to expose the minimal.bin and tasmota.bin files resolved the problem..

Probably already well known by all here but just in case..  lets hope i stop someone else wasting an eveing..;)

It does state in the upgrade docs that 'Trying to upgrade with a gzipped binary using versions older than 8.2 will fail'i

The hyperlinks allow you to directly download the tasmora-lite version without the .gz extension.

Just to add to this.

V7.2.0 link doesn't have the .gz so should work fine. If you're following the 'standard' upgrade path and you've skipped the V8.2.0 upgrade you would need to use the non-.gz version

Upgrade Flow~

v1.0.11    v3.9.22    v4.2.0    v5.14.0    v6.7.1    v7.2.0    v8.5.1    v9.1    Current release

V 8,2 was glaringly absent,  and 8.5.1 is in the .gz format Although the warning .gz text box in red was hovering only about 2" above as if anyone could notice it!  - I must have revisited that page at least half a dozen times and completely overlooked that aspect until today!  Myopic? Et moi? 

Must be simple good fortune i landed on the solution while remaining blind to the instruction/warning,, as long as the problem is this end,, :)
