Hi all,

My bathroom exhaust fan has both LED light bulb and fan. Wall switch like Lutron MA-L3T251 that has separate control for the light and the fan is great. However I found out later that this switch can't completely shut off the LED light bulb - I ended up with a 24 hour light in my exhaust fan. So I am thinking to use Sonoff basic with Tasmota firmware to set it up as a count down timer for the fan. Wondering whether this is possible. Anyone is aware of or has experience with such application? I searched the forum but didn't find the relevant information.

Thanks a lot in advance,

Sean

I have done something similar with a Sonoff Dual in my toilet. The normal light switch is connected to the header near where the jack socket would be on a TH10. It switches the light on and off using outout 1. It's connected to openHAB. If light is only on for under 2 minutes the fan isn't operated. If over 2 minutes the fan comes on using output 2 and stays on for 1 minute after the light is turned off. You could replicate this in Rules. It won't dim of course but you may be able do that separately by feeding output 1 through a dimmer. In the UK we aren't allowed wall switches in bathrooms (must be a pull switch from the ceiling or a switch outside the bathroom).
I use a TH10 in the bathroom and control the fan using the humidity reading.
May or may not help you.
Regards

Phil K

Sean,
you cannot manage timers in Tasmota (based on my knowledge!). Hence you have to get this managed by the Home mgmt. system, for example Node-red or Hass.
EspEasy has the rules and the possibility to manage simple timers .So Esp Easy can do what you have in mind..... SOnoff double or a second relay attached to a SOnoff basic in GPIO14. One relay controls the light one relay controls the fan and you can have all the rules you want..
Best,
