Hi All,
I'm a newbie with Sonoffs and Tasmota, so this may be a simple misunderstanding.
I have downloaded the sonoff.bin (unmodified) and flashed it onto a Sonoff Basic via a Raspberry Pi 2B following the instructions on:
https://www.sigmdel.ca/michel/ha/sonoff/flashing_sonoff_en.html   with the updates from the Tasmota gtihub site.
After some hours of playing around with it and replacing power supplies it now  works fine. After flashing the device I get:
"Wrote 549720 bytes (374619 compressed) at 0x00000000 in 34.7 seconds (effective 126.8 kbit/s)...
Hash of data verified."
But when I reboot and connect via miniterm with:  miniterm.py /dev/ttyAMA0 115200 -e
 I only get:
--- Miniterm on /dev/ttyAMA0  115200,8,N,1 ---
--- Quit: Ctrl+] | Menu: Ctrl+T | Help: Ctrl+T followed by Ctrl+H ---
and that's all I ever get.
I have tried "enter" and AT commands, but no response at all.
I have also just typed the ssid and pw in but the sonoff doesn't react to anything.
On AC power (without serial) I don't get any life signs from the Sonoff at all.
I have been able to re-flash the backup of the original firmware and the Sonoff works fine with it and reacts to button presses.

After several days of trying I'm now out of ideas.
Any suggestions?

Cheers Thorsten

Hi

I’ve been through this:

When you have launched Miniterm, you need to type “wificonfig 2” at the prompt.

Then the switch will open its on AP sonoff_xxxx and you will access the webpage of the switch at address 192.168.4.1. Then you can configure the SSID, MQTT, and so on

Hope that helps

Yann

Some don’t seem keen to communicate via FTDI after flashing. I resort to button presses and WPS in that case.
