I want to experiment with controlling a SG90 servo with a D1 Mini.

The docs show a much larger servo with an associated power supply and relays, The SG90 is a much smaller servo and maybe the added complexity of the example is not really necessary.
Can I simply attach the servo power supply wires to the +5V and GND of the D1 Min and the servo control to a GPIO terminal set as a PWM output?

The SG90 draws 600mA and runs at 5V. The D1 runs at 3.3V so you may need to use a relay or opto-isolator
