Just dowmloaded source files for Tasmota 16.6.0. Works on Linux without any issues, but big problems on Windows 11, even after removing VSCode and platformIO and starting from scratch. I need to compile for  the ESP32c3 module

I am doing the following:
Use Revo Uninstaller to remove VCCode
Delete the .platformio directory from my account
Delete the Tasmota-development directory (After failing first time)
Install VSCode
Start VSCode and add MS C compiler
Install PlatformIO
Unpack the Tasmota .zip file
Select the ESP32c3 environment
Wait until cofiguration the environment is finished
Start compiling
Getting tons of errors, starting with
Processing tasmota32c3 (board: esp32c3; framework: arduino; platform: https://github.com/tasmota/platform-espressif32/releases/download/2025.04.30/platform-espressif32.zip)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Platform Manager: Installing https://github.com/tasmota/platform-espressif32/releases/download/2025.04.30/platform-espressif32.zip
Downloading  [####################################]  100%
Unpacking  [####################################]  100%
[WinError 32] The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process: 'C:\\Tasmota-development\\.platformio\\.cache\\tmp\\pkg-installing-x_1s9pej\\platform-espressif32-2025.04.30\\examples\\espidf-storage-sdcard\\src\\sd_card_example_main.c'
Then there are many more error messages of the same format

Works OK I choose the standard tasmota environment,  same with some other ESP32 modules

Best regards

I see that the problem, as so often, comes from not knowing what I'm doing. I try to excuse myself by saying that I am 78 years old and that my brain no longer works as well as before, so I hope you can bear with me on this.

I have now managed to get it working using cut and try. I'm no programmer, but I mostly understand what happens in my_user_config.h and it works for me.

It seems that if I start compiling with the tasmota environment the other modules will work. I have no idea why, and it's possible I should have provisioned PlatformIO in a different way first, but at least now it seems to be working.

All the best from Ulf

As a gentle suggestion, you will get more help on the Discord server or on GitHub discussions. This google group is not used by the Tasmota staff
