I have just started using some ESP32c3 moules, but I have some problems uploading the code from VSCode. It works after trying several times, but often I get the error A fatal error occurred: The chip stopped responding, and I have to reset the module and try again. The error occures randomly from 3  up to 98 % in the uploading process. So far I have always succided uploading the code, but very seldom at the first try. I never get this kind of problem on other modules.
Is this a known problem with the ESP32c3 module, and if s o, is there anything to do about it?

Best regards

Ulf

This looks like a power supply problem. Writing to flash causes some spikes in consumption. Either your power supply is too weak, the vreg on the board is too weak or the capacitor on the board is too small.

I’ll try with an external PSU – have been using the USB port on my PC. I have 3 10mF capacitors on the power rail on the PCB, and 100 nF closely connected to the Vcc pin, so I hope that would be enough.
