Hello all,
Since replacing my router with a new one from Linksys (MR8300 running OpenWrt) and also upgrading my Tasmota devices to v12 then 12.2 my Tasmota devices have been randomly going offline long enough to reset and almost immediately come back online.

I've done some research and I can't tell whether the issue is caused by Wifi or MQTT issues.

I tried changing the log to weblog 4 in the console but it doesn't last long enough for me to see the cause. At one point I saw something that suggested "Exception" but did not stay long enough for me to read the full message so I couldn't tell what caused the exception if that is even reported.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance

First question with drop outs is how many devices?

3 devices in total. Two (Touch and S20 power socket) a lot more frequently than the 3rd one (Touch).

Do you have an MQTT broker?

What version were they running before the upgrade to V12 too?

Yes. I'm running an MQTT server using docker.
As regards the version of Tasmota, I was running v11 and v10.1 before that.
I tried resetting both my MQTT broker DB as well as the affected devices to no avail.

Do you have different client and topic names in the MQTT configuration?

No.
MQTT Client and MQTT Topic are the same.

I managed to catch it straight after a reset

Does anyone understand what this means?

And that's your problem. The Client and Topic must NOT be the same.

The restriction has been removed but caused problems before and it may still cause a ‘topic loop’ so it’s worth trying a different ClientID (and making sure all clientIDs are unique).

Thank you so much. I have changed all the client names on my Tasmota devices and I'm still getting offline then immediately online alerts

How many wifi devices on the network? I’d also try a reset 5 in case there’s corruption of the flash memory.

Hiya. It looks like changing the client name made a huge difference. However, I'm still getting on and off albeit a lot less frequently than before. It's really strange, sometimes it would go most of the day without any issues and then suddenly I would get 3-4 alerts within 5 minutes and then again after 10-15 mins etc

I forgot to mention that the reset 5 didn't seem to make a difference

It’s worth making sure that you don’t have 2 Clients which are the same – it’s OK for the User to be the same (in fact they should all be the same if you have a password set).
