Hello guys,

I downloaded Tasmota and the drivers for ESP32 cam on Mac (CH340) but I don't see any "Serial port" on the app.
I do not think it is a driver issue because the Arduino IDE app detects the ESP32.

Thank you in advance for your help,
Léopold

Use the Web Installer - there isn’t an app like Arduino – you need an ESPFlashing tool but the Web Installer is easiest.

Hello,
Thank you for your help !
I first tried to use the web installer but, even tho my computer is detecting the ESP32cam (see first screenshot), I obtain an "Installation failed" message in the end (see second screenshot).
This error message say to try the installation while holding the "BOOT button". I found 2 button on the ESP, both with "RST" next to them. So I tried the installation while holding one button, or both but I always obtain the error message at the end.

Do you know what could I do ?

Thank you in advance.

The ESP32 should automatically go into flash mode without needing to put it into flash mode. There should be an IO0 button which puts the device into flash mode by holding it while connecting the USB.

Having said that, the most common reason why it’s unable to flash from the Web Installer is something else using the COM port to the device (terminal software for example).

I can't find the "IO0 button". Could you precise me where to find it please ?

Despite this button, do you know what could I do to solve my problem ?

Thanks

It depends on your version of ESP32Cam but on most ESP32s it’s the button to the left of the microUSB connector.

The best way is to reboot the computer with the device unplugged. Go to the Tasmota website then open the Web Installer and then plug in the device. It might be that the mac is connecting to the USB in some way which is blocking the COM port

Could the issue comes from the fact that I use a new Mac generation with only usb-c port that imply the utilisation of a usb-c to usb3-0 converter ?

I think the problem is that you ‘downloaded the drivers for the ESP32Cam’ so the mac is seeing it as a camera.

I don’t no because at first I just connected the ESP and tried the web installer with no success.
That is why I then looked for driver.

I’m not a mac person. In Windows there is Device Manager which tells you what devices are connected. If your device is connected as a camera you can’t flash it. It needs to be connected as a COM port
