Hello Friends. 

I have a few upcoming events including 

A drum circle  (play by heart jam session) in Sebastopol Tues June 3 at 5 to 8 pm With Pot Luck. ($20) Many drum provided.    This is a fund raiser for Wonderland where we have had many amazing events, and I conduct my Monday class.  I’ll be the leader for the June event, other people on other months, First Tuesday of the month.  We will play outside with a fire if necessary. Please join us and support Miss Daisy’s.

A free drum circle in Sebastopol Sat June 28th starting around 6pm in the evening at Hardcore Espresso in Sebastopol. This is Molly and Family’s annual thank you party for their customers, I’ve played there for 30 years.  Usually there is free food, a blues band, fire dancers and general good times. Bring your drum, your kids, your friends and drum seat.  More information here:   Below is a picture from many years ago when I used to bring my Bateria and friends.  This year is play along by heart. I’ll bring  a free extra hand drums and percussion.

I will conduct a Brazilian percussion jam session Sat June 7th at 6pm  in Occidental World Music and Dance Festival.  If you always play hand drums, this is a great time to play your various percussion and help us create that amazing multilayered sound of the Brazilian bateria.  I’ll bring  some extra percussion.  All drums and drummers are welcome.

I’ll also give a West African Drum class at 1 PM. I  have about 6 extra drums I can bring, but please bring your djembe or dun duns.

The day is packed with great classes, jam session, performances.  There will be food to purchase on site, so come and spend the day and evening. The fee is very reasonable.

I’m planning my  August off grid drumming retreat near  Occidental. Please let me know if you are interested.  It will take place in the first part of Aug, on a weekend.  We arrive late in the day Thursday, set up, have a jam session and dinner, then 2 classes and jam sessions on Friday and Saturday, Sound Journey Saturday night, then one class on Sunday and leave Sunday afternoon.  You can camp or purchase accommodation upgrades. I also have a wide selection of world percussion instruments for sale at good prices. Ghana  talking drums, Moroccan bongos, many various frame drums, brand new frog scrapers in 3 sizes, shakers, shekere, brass dumbec, pandeiros, rattles, shells, Taos drum, Brazilian bass drum (surdo) African bells, etc etc  this is all great stuff from my collection, loved and played. I’m lightening up on duplicates.  Let me know if you are interested and I will send you pictures.
