I have installed SonoBus using the instructions https://www.sonobus.net/linux.html, in the Debian based linux container on ChromeOS on an ARM (arch64) based Chromebook. I can start jack successfully and run other jack clients. When I start SonoBus is fails to start and gives this error:

!! killing thread by force !!
FATAL: exception not rethrown
Aborted (core dumped)

I have updated to the latest Debian version available for this environment which is 12.14 (which was released today). This is Bookworm because Trixie is not yet available for Chromebook.

SonoBus runs on a Raspberry Pi, also aarch64 and also running Debian 12.14.

I see the same behaviour when I compile from source with the latest github version: 35f1062dab196b9838a4bb529c4bf6592b7f5987 on main branch.

I have reported this as a bug in the issue tracker as issue 287. I initially reported here because that is what the main web page says to do, but GitHub issue tracker looks like a better place to report issues and previous bug reports on this mailing list have not had any attention. I hope I have done the right thing... :-)

Sorry about that... we definitely have never attempted to use our debian package on a linux running inside ChromeOS. Do you have a way to build software on that device, and have a chance of following the build from source instructions?

Yes, as mentioned before, I get the same behaviour if I complete from source.

Try to build from source from the develop branch instead... it uses a newer version of JUCE...

I rebuilt, using the latest version from develop branch and the result is the same.

It will run if I don't start jack first. It attempts and fails to connect to jack then opens, direclty using alsa... and it works!!!

So the issue is starting with jack running / connecting to jack server.
