I live in the Netherlands and make a podcast occasionally. Sometimes I use Sonobus for a remote guest.
However, so far, this only works if the guest is on a wired network connected via a cable to the internet.
It hasn't worked so far with guests on a 4G or 5G mobile network. Not even with port forwarding.
Now I read in this group that this might be due to the security measures within the 4G or 5G network,
and that it might be possible to solve this using a VPN connection.
I have no experience setting up and using VPN connections.
What does it do? Are there any good or bad VPN networks? What should I look out for?
And are there any special points to consider when using Sonobus?
Actually, I am looking for a manual for setting up and using a VPN in combination with Sonobus.
I don't think slightly higher latency is such a big problem for podcasts.
Connecting with one remote guest is sufficient for now.
Thanks in advance for any tips.
Kind regards
Peter
