Hello!

I'm preparing the next update and have added some language
localization support. I have started with Spanish, French, German, and
Italian, just based on an automatic Google Translate. I'm sure it got
a lot of things wrong, if you are interested in reviewing and
correcting any translations, I will keep this Dropbox shared folder
updated with the current translations, please email me with any
corrections you have to strings in it. You don't need to send the
edits to the email list, just email me directly, and I'll update the
strings accordingly.

Also, let me know if you want to see your language included and I'll

The .strings files are plain text, you should be able to open them with any text editor. If you can’t, just change the file extension to .txt. I may do this later to prevent confusion.

OK, the Spanish translation has been updated (thanks Yonatan!), I also
added a portuguese version that one of you volunteered to try editing.

I am now experimenting with a shared google doc that anyone with this
link can edit, that way people can easily make edits or comments
directly:

Hi Jesse,

first of all, thank you for this great piece of software!

I could help with the German translation if it's not already work in progress by someone else. But from the current file status I would expect that it is still pending work.

Before I start: Do you prefer formal or informal language? I would expect that informal language is most common for these type of software but the automatic translation uses a mixture of both, so I don't know.

Second point is: I would like to revert some of the translations back to English because English is already quite common for technical terms in Germany and often easier to understand than strange Translations. Is this okay for you?

Third point is: Some words cannot be translated correctly without context, e.g. "on" can have the meaning like "to power on" or "on top of the table" which is translated differently. Some context information would be helpful and probably also for other translations. Although I already worked quite a lot with the program, I have not yet seen every word that is contained in the translation table. Maybe you can give a hint how to get the right context. Additionally I could checkout the github sources. If all of the strings can be found there, maybe the context gets clearer from the code.

I'll take any help I can get! I don't want to include it in the app
without at least one human to do an editing pass.

And use a new column for your changes... most likely I will just use
whatever you put in, unless someone else comes in with their own
suggestions. As for context, please feel free to ask me if you can't
find it in the app, via direct email. They all came from the code, so
yes if you are comfortable with that you can search for them there. I
imagine some of the short things will be the most ambiguous. If using
english for some terms makes the most sense to you, I'll trust your
judgement.
