I built a local network to stream the audio from the auditorium to the college studio. I'm using a direct connection because the institution's network blocks the server aoo.sonobus.net. . I'm considering the possibility of creating groups to facilitate the connection, since the direct connection is unreliable. I can create a connection server in Python, but I don't know the logic for saving the groups. What are the simplest ways for people to connect or create groups locally?

Actually you don’t need to do all that, every standalone SonoBus has its own AOO server builtin in port 10999. So just specify the IP_ADDRESS:10999 of one of your computers in the connection server field of all the clients you want to use together. Then you can use the group features without hitting the internet!

I managed to create a group with this configuration: using the default localhost IP 127.0.0.1:10999 and then assigning IP_ADDRESS:10999 for the other computers. It worked perfectly—thanks! This could be included in the standard user manual for the software.

Is there a way to do this headless? I'm running a win11 nuc headless in my truck, and can't figure out how to get Sonobus to connect to a group from command line at startup.
Didn't mean to hijack the thread. Let me know if I should repost.

Thanks.
