to SonoBus Users

Hi!

I hope you guys can tell me what I am doing wrong. I have spent a lot of time configuring this but it is not working.

My Goal: Enable Duet Karaoke Singing (with at least one other user in the same town).

Me (Host Laptop):

  • Windows 11 laptop hooked to Yamaha MG10XU via USB.

  • Softwares installed: Sonobus, OBS, Zoom

    • Zoom is muted… and is just to share the OBS webcam.

  • I have VB-Cables installed but not quite using them since I do not know about it enough

  • Track played on youtube on the laptop. The goal is to use this track and both users sing a duet.

Singer (Other Laptop):

  • Same as mine except its hooked up to XNEX 320USB mixer. I tried with

What works:

No matter how I connect thru or without using OBS

  • I can hear my Vocals + Mic Output from on my primary headphones (Normal function)

  • I can send the output via sonobus to the singer’s laptop and they can hear it

  • When the singer sings, I can hear the singer back (without some delay)

What does not work?

  • The recording is terrible. I am recording using OBS on my side.  My part is in SYNC. Singers part of offsync

  • The BIGGEST issue is that when the singer sings, he can hear himself (feedback loop) in his mic after a delay hence not being able to sing.  Is there a way to stop this on the singer's side and yet let his voice along my track be heard on my side?

Please help me!!! thanks in advance.
