I am writing with a fun update - My next single, the title track to the forthcoming album, will be out on all platforms on February 23rd! The track is called Chardi kala, which is the Sikh concept of revolutionary eternal optimism. As the
farmers' protests continue in the face of extreme Indian government
repression, I am amazed at their ability to remain in chardi kala,
refusing to back down. The timing to release this song, and accompanying music video, feels right on time. I hope it is a worthy
contribution to our collective sense of hope as we fight in all the ways
we can for a better world.
If you are a Spotify user, you can pre-save the single
here.
I also want to invite you to a special zoom event on Thursday, February 25th to celebrate the release and premiere the music video for the very first time before it's released to the public. Hosted by chef-activist Ora Wise, the event will also feature producer of the album Wil-Dog Abers of Ozomatli, video director Heera Singh, and Sikh writer and activist Mallika Kaur. This is a free, limited-attendance event, so RSVP at the link below to reserve your spot before it fills up!
Details:
Thursday, Feb 25th, 8:30pm EST
(you'll get the zoom link after RSVP- only one RSVP per household is needed if you'll be joining from the same computer)
