Hi friends,
I hope you are all doing okay in these intense, uplifting, and scary times. It goes without saying that I'm inspired and energized by the massive uprising throughout the country (and beyond) against the racist police state. And horrified by the seemingly coordinated violent and militaristic response by police departments almost everywhere. Significant concrete wins are being achieved throughout the country as a result of this uprising and many many years of organizing.

I'm continuing to create music in the period for my own sense of grounding and stability, and I hope it's been helpful for you all as well. You can check out my latest quarantine collab videos on social media or my youtube channel. This week, we made a video for the Poor People's Campaign virtual mass day of action on June 20th.

I also want to invite those of you in the US to be a part of the premier of the documentary FROM HERE, which tells my story, along with 3 other children of immigrants fighting racism and xenophobia through our art and activism. The film has been in production for over a decade, so this is a very exciting moment! It is premiering at the Human Rights Watch Film Festival next week, which will of course be digital. What these means is anyone in the US can be a part of the premier. Tickets are $9, and are essentially a "rental" that you can stream between January 10-20th at your convenience. We'll also be doing a Q&A on June 14th at 8pm with Christina Antonakos-Wallace, the film's director, myself, and Tania Mattos, one of the other protagonists, which is open to all.

Finally, I just relaunched my website! You can check it out at www.sonnysingh.com. Announcement on my first single/video release coming very soon!

onward,
Sonny
