Testing Port Mirroring Functionality on DELL S5248F-ON Switch

Hi All,

I was testing SONiC's port mirroring functionality on DELL S5248F-ON switch and noticed that SONiC does not support VLAN interfaces to be used as the source/destination in a port mirroring session. Upon further research, I have determined that this feature exists in both Cisco and Junos OS. Cisco allows VLAN interfaces to be mirror sources while Junos allows VLAN interfaces to be both mirror sources and destinations.

Is there any specific reason why this feature is not available in SONiC?

Any input from the community on this matter would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
