Information request: sonic-bgp

Hi Team,

I am exploring sonic by downloading/building docker images(management framework) from jenkins/sonic-buildimage and running the container. All I am trying to do is to see if I can configure bgp for sonic and start working with it. I don't see any bgp yaml inside. So I have few of my doubts which I would like to be clarified by you experts. 

1. How is sonic supporting bgp configuration? I have not seen any sonic-bgp.yang model in the sonic-buildimage/src.

2. How is openconfig-bgp.yang supported by sonic? 

3. I built a management framework with openconfig-bgp.yang and it generated the openconfig-bgp.yaml but is not working since there is no support available to process the request. Please correct me if I am doing something wrong here.

4. Is it possible for you to point me towards some documentation which helps me build a sonic management framework with bgp enabled, so that I can configure bgp in sonic?

Hi Apurba,

 

OpenConfig YANG feature support (like openconfig-bgp.yang) is still on the roadmap and has not been integrated into the management framework yet. We have just finished implementing some infrastructure that translates OpenConfig data models to the Redis DB. The application modules (that leverage said infrastructure to implement the OpenConfig YANG support) are coming later.
