Hi Lapers,

I hope you are all well and making good progress in the challenge.

I'm sorry to say that we need to release a bug fix for Task 1 and request that anyone working on that task re-pull the LAP Challenge GitHub repository (https://github.com/Audio-Experience-Design).

This bug had a slight impact on the results of task1_validate.m. It was caused by the barumerli2023_featureextraction ignoring the sampling rate of the sofa file input. Unless it was specified as an input argument, the data was sampled at 44.1 kHz, and the model assumed 48 kHz, impacting the feature estimations.

This bug has now been fixed, and the following updates have been applied:

  1. The model now uses the sampling rate of the provided sofa file and not the default one.

  2. The thresholds have also been recomputed (they are now slightly different, with some values being lower).

  3. The validation code for task one in the GitHub repository has been updated to reflect the bug fix.

  4. The description document for Task 1 has been updated to reflect the new thresholds (link: https://imperialcollegelondon.box.com/s/laq35yleevu0e1c7g0mn1w9e98f2b0ia).

We can only apologise for this error. Please do get in touch if you have any issues or need any help.

Cheers,

Aidan, along with the rest of the LAP team
