Hi
I like to import the geomerty and layers of multiple DWG into dynamo. I hold push the geomerty through an equation and generating a new geomerty for each loaded dwg puching them back out into seperate dwg again.
At my office, we have an in-house Lighting studio. When the project started, they modeled all the lighting in our architectural model, not in a linked file. As we are pushing to 100% DD in the next week we now have 14 plus people working in one model (19 people one-day last week). I fear this will only get worse as we move into CDs. I would like to move them to their own Lighting model and get them out of ours.
I can grab the GUID of all host elements (element ID may change when file is duplicated) and match those to the GUID of the linked element (I think). I have never used Dynamo to rehost elements. Will it keep them in the same location?
That is what I am thinking. Once I detach it though I need to Re-host everything to the architectural model otherwise it will be out of date as we move forward. I need to grab all lighting devises, equipment and fixtures un-host them from their detached wall, floors, and ceilings and host them to the linked model. Then I can delete all of the unneeded detached elements.
I created a skeleton project and went to backend AWS AppSync console -> Data Sources and map the existing table to it. And I added that table definition to my schema.graphql in my react app. When I do an amplify push, I see it creating a new table in dynamodb, rather than pointing to the existing db.
BimorphNodes v3.0 includes some major updates and a range of new nodes, including the new CADTextData.FromLayer node, which extracts text from a CAD link or import without exploding.
BimorphNodes v3.0 is a major update with a focus on new nodes which include text extraction from CAD links or imports, bug fixes, multi-language support, speed enhancements, stability improvements and better exception handling.
CAD.PointsFromCADLayers has been added to BimorphNodes enabling the collection and filtering of points from CAD links or imports. The node works much in the same way to the Curve-From-CAD-Layer nodes; input an Import Instance and leave the layerNames input unconnected to import from all layers, or input layer names as a list of strings to filter points from those layers.
LinkElement.GetParameterValueByName gets the parameter value from a LinkElement and resolves the issue with the OOTB Element.GetParameterValueByName which only works with elements in the active document (parameter queries require the document object, which is invalid for linked elements). It works the same way as the OOTB node, but modified to work with linked elements.
You can use the SQL Gateway to configure a TDS (SQL Server) remoting service and set up a linked server for Amazon DynamoDB data. After you have started the service, you can use the UI in SQL Server Management Studio or call stored procedures to create the linked server. You can then work with Amazon DynamoDB data just as you would a linked SQL Server instance.
Note that a value of "localhost" in this input refers to the machine where SQL Server is running so be careful when creating a linked server in Management Studio when not running on the same machine as SQL Server.

Call the sp_addlinkedsrvlogin stored procedure to allow SQL Server users to connect with the credentials of an authorized user of the service. Note that the credentials you use to connect to the service must specify a user you configured on the Users tab of the SQL Gateway.
SQL Server Management Studio uses the SQL Server Client OLE DB provider, which requires the ODBC driver to be used inprocess. You must enable the "Allow inprocess" option for the SQL Server Native Client Provider in Management Studio to query the linked server from SQL Server Management Studio. To do this, open the properties for the provider you are using under Server Objects -> Linked Servers -> Providers. Check the "Allow inprocess" option and save the changes.Execute QueriesYou can now execute queries to the Amazon DynamoDB linked server from any tool that can connect to SQL Server. Set the table name accordingly:
This workflow streams clash results between MEP and structural designs using a live link between Revit and Navisworks with Dynamo, and improves clash detection throughout the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process.
Changes that are made in a linked model can be viewed after it has been saved and reloaded into your project. When you rerun the Dynamo script, you will notice that the clash with the linked model has been resolved. The clash list and the Navisworks coordination model will automatically update.
i'm often jumping between bricscad and rhino/grasshopper (and given rhinos slow upgrade cycle and the relatively low cost it's well worth getting involved). you have a builtin graphical programming interface that can be enhanced by c#/python/vb scripts where needed. rhino handles dwg import/export well. the main problem for me is, once you go through several iterations on a large project, you obviously have to take care keeping track of different export files and versions. i usually import my dwg reference as a linked block into rhino, build on top of that and export the result as a dwg file that i can then xref back into bricscad. this way updates get forwarded more or less automatically if you keep the file names constant.
there seems to be something going on in the background concerning a link to rhino.inside (see links below). it would be interesting to hear any official comment on this?! now before christmas i didn't find the time to build the sample project and see how it works, let's see about that after the holidays. it's all relatively new though, if there is something growing, it's probably in its infancy.
Dynamo is an open source program that can be used in conjunction with Revit to automate tasks. It can be downloaded and installed at dynamobim.org. This is the free, open source version of the program.
Dynamo Games Ltd is an independent, multi award-winning videogame developer and publisher based in Dundee, Scotland. If Sybase succeeds, the number-two database vendor may be able to take a leadership role in the market for tools that link existing database-centric networks with intranets and possibly recoup from a series of bad quarters that resulted in the recent departure of CEO Mark Hoffman.
Due in the fourth quarter, the tool will include NetImpact Dynamo, a tool for building and managing Web server applications, as well as templates for fast application development and tools to link Web servers to relational database management systems.
Yeah. My intention was to try to take myself out of my comfort zone, which is typically my own studio space or my own bedroom or any kind of place that feels familiar. And so one thing about touring is that you rarely get a chance to stop and really see the places that you're passing through. So my intention was to write music in every single city that I've been wanting to check out and stop by a couple of national parks along the way and gain inspiration from the things around me, from the visual side of what America can offer.
