Yesterdaytalked to the dealer (was looking for a radio code and asked casually what he knows of then- the usual "would need to book in" $$$, he mentioned something about a supply wiring and relays... ?
If so there is a code calculator tool which produces the code from the serial number. Works with serial numbers in the format:- C7000 0000xxxx. It used to be a widely available free download but have just checked and can now only find people offering to do it for a price.
It looks like you're missing the second sticker on the unit (where the blank white rectangle is). This is where the serial code is located. Using *Super secret math hacking* you can crack the code. You take the last 4 digits of the code, and add 1 to the first number, 2 to the second number, 3 to the 3rd number and 4 to the 4th number. Your new 4 numbers are the code to unlock the radio. If any number goes above 6, you just count the next number from 1. For example, serial number ending in 2142 would have a security code of 3253. I'm afraid this isn't much use in your case but hopefully anyone else who stumbles on this thread can use this method.
Unfortunately @NastyBaz was right about the serial missing, as code turns out to be 2524 regardless how I'd try to reverse engineer numbers (serials) on it- none a matching existing "row" of digits to start with
ANW thanks to all interested and helped, hope it might end up of some use to somebody in the future

I have 'Peugeot' PU-2294A here that came with the van which looks identical
and has a 4 digit number written in sharpie on the top, presumably the code ?.
Didnt bother to test it.
It was tucked behind the drivers seat as it had a Pioneer stereo in there when bought
and can only assume it was being kept to be reinstalled when the van was sold.
Depends, if you got intact connector (3'rd) , wiring and steering wheel controls... or something might been messed up and changed for exact that reason.
Talking about Pugs, my 5008 is so clever, but radio control stork under wipers does my head in
This example demonstrates code generation for a selected radio model. All input parameter validation is done on the server side and if the radio serial number has an invalid length or pattern - the service will return an error.
Radio serial numbers are different for different radios, they have different lengths and different patterns, some may consist of just digits e.g. 1234, while others may consist of digits and letters e.g. AB1234XYZ.
Validation of this data is done on the server side. However, to make things more efficient, we can use the information about available limits and patterns of particular serial numbers to, for example, set these limits in controls in our own applications without unnecessary calls to the Web API.
If you are interested in the Radio Code Calculator Web API or have any questions regarding radio code generator SDK packages, technical or legal issues, or if something is not clear, please contact me. I'll be happy to answer all of your questions.
Since most of the codes are not automated, the time for you to receive your code depends on the availability of our agent. In general, you will receive your codes within a few minutes. However, it may take longer, so don't worry if you have not received your code yet, and don't hesitate to contact us!
Most car radios require special handling from our agent in order to retrieve their code. However, some brands are easier to handle, such as Renault, whose database is freely accessible. CarGroov has thus developed an online free generator that can generate your Renault radio code instantly. Such a generator is not feasible for other brands whose databases require special access or whose algorithms are kept private. That's why most radio codes are not free. Beware of viruses and scams when some websites promise you free radio codes or free code generators to download! Remember, for your safety, never download any file from a dubious source.
The blocking system of the car radios is actually an anti-theft system that may be inadvertently activated when the car battery is empty or replaced. However, in reality, that system doesn't really prevent thieves from using or stealing the radio (they know better!). Instead, it prevents the actual car owners from using it!...while allowing dealerships to profit by charging high amounts to unlock car radios. Some of our customers have informed us prices such as 60 or even 100! That's why a lot of drivers are searching online for a cheaper way to obtain their radio codes and end up using our service. Please note that by using our service to retrieve your radio code, you confirm that you are the legal owner of the car. Documents proving this may be requested from you.
Unfortunately, for some models of car radios, the code cannot be retrieved online. We can find codes for most radios, but not all of them. In case you've purchased a radio code that is impossible to retrieve, you will be refunded, of course. Note that some websites don't refund their customers or even sell fake codes. Many of our customers have informed us that they have paid for other fraudulent services before finding us, so be careful!
We are able provide you with the manufacturers security code required to unlock and activate your Peugeot car radio after power loss. Your car radio code information will be delivered digitally following your purchase.
Its fast and easy to obtain the radio code for your Peugeot stereo, simply follow the steps below to locate your serial and search to see if we have your code available in our extensive database.
Never take the serial number from any printed paperwork or user guides, since this may not match the actual Peugeot radio fitted to the car. Instead, take the serial number from either a label or an engraving on the top or side of your Peugeot stereo, to ensure the supplied Peugeot radio code is accurate.
Peugeot car radios will normally contain a 14 digit serial number which can be found either printed on a label or engraved on the side of the unit.
These serials are only visible once the Peugeot radio has been removed from the vehicle.
Examples of serials include:
Using our Peugeot radio decoding system, you are not only saving money, but also time and the hassle which is involved. Most vehicle main dealers require you to book in your vehicle and take the car and proof of ownership along before they apply for the radio code.
Usually the code will be based on the vehicle registration or Chassis number which can mean you are not getting the code for the current unit fitted to the car, especially if the radio has been replaced at any stage in its lifetime.
There are a number of reasons why a radio code based on the vehicles chassis number or registration may not work, these include:
At Radio-Code, we provide radio codes based on the unique serial number of the car radio, regardless of what it was fitted to originally. Our radio codes have proven to be more accurate than main dealer's because of this.
