Hi,

As the maintainer of this plugin, I'd like to try and gauge if it is worthwhile continuing on.

Admittedly, I haven't been doing much with it lately, for the typical reasons of moving jobs, etc.  However it seems to me there isn't a lot of interest in it anymore.  Most of the rules have been deprecated (i.e. moved into SonarQube itself) and only a couple of issues and pull requests have been submitted.

I've started to hack around with getting it to work in SonarQube 6.3 and have made some progress, but before i spend any more time on it I'd like to know if anyone is actually still interested in it.  I'd also be interested in handing it over to anyone else that might be keen on maintaining it.

Let me know your thoughts anyone..:-)

Thanks,

Tim

well i will bring this up in our Software Craftmanship Clan in the company... right now i am not sure if we actually need pmd, and it is hard to say with 20+ projects.

i will come back to you as soon as i have some information!

Actually i checked the Plugin, and most rules seems to be already deprecated, so for our case, i do not think we really need this plugin anymore.

Sadly there is not much response about that ;( from other guys-

Hello,

In the old days I understood SonarQube to be a platform that included such tools as CheckStyle, PMD, and FindBugs.  As currently implemented, the SonarQube Java analyzer has incorporated and refined the capabilities provided by those tools.  There's a great community-driven process here for further refining the collection of findings and keeping up to date with the latest language and framework changes.

SonarQube wouldn't be what it is without PMD, but I'm not sure what benefit there is to keep it going as a separate entity at this point.

However, a great thank you for what PMD has brought.

Thanks,
Brian

We are absolutely interested in this. We have many custom rules developed in PMD and we want it to be linked with sonar.

Thank you
