Hi all

There is a very hot discussion in JIRA concerning this ticket.

I would like you express your position concerning the potential rolling back of this feature.

For my part, we are fighting to move our URL sonar.company.domain/sonar-xxx to sonar-xxx.company.domain.

I think we could achieve this but lots of people can't and are very frustrated.

Can you give here your point of view as it can prevent the upgrade to 5.4+ ?

Regards

We need a web context. We simply can't deploy SonarQube without one. I
still don't understand why the context has been removed entirely, a
fixed context (like /sonar or /sonarqube) should have worked in the same
way.

Apart from that, mimicking a "no context" behaviour should be no problem
by using a reverse proxy. The other way round is virtually impossible.

Apart from that I'm still a bit shocked about the policy here... doing
such a major change in a minor upgrade, without (proper) announcement.
I feel this was treated as an irrelevance in a "deal with it!" way. I
don't think this is the proper way.

Well, lack of this prevents ANY future upgrade for us, so we're pretty
left stranded here... :(

Cheers
Steffen

Thanks Fabrice.

Indeed it helps us a lot to keep the context.

We decided to move from 5.3 to 5.5 directly.

Great news Fabrice.

Our deployment model depends on sonarqube running on a webcontext.

Thanks!
