Hello fellows,

I recent install a new instance of the sonarqube 6.7 and add the sonar-python plugin version 1.10.

I read the instructions in https://docs.sonarqube.org/display/PLUG/SonarPython , but the step for it is a little unclear for me:

"4.(Optional) Install Pylint if you want to activate Pylint rules"

currently I have installed pylint in the project that I am trying to analize, but Sonarqube keep telling me that it will not run pylint because there is no pyulint rule activated.

I try to search for rules tagged as pylint but they do not appear.

so my questions are:

Where should I install the Pylint in order to see the rules in Sonarqube and then activate them? In the server?

should I import the rules of pylint in the sonarqube?

thnaks for you guidance

Hi Cristian,

You're not finding a 'pylint' tag because those rules are segregated by Repository.

I.E. Expand the Repository facet in the Rules page and you'll see what you're looking for.

Hello Ann,

I just follow your recommendation.

the repositories shown for Python rules are:
  • Sonaranalyzer (54 rules)
  • Common Python (6 rules)

There is no pylint repository

Hi Cristian,

Here's what I see when I spin up 7.1 Community edition (which includes SonarPython 1.9.1):

Hi,

I just checked with SonarQube 6.7 and SonarPython 1.10 (1.10.0.2131).
The "Rules" page lists the "Pylint" repository with 325 rules, similarly to what can be seen on sonarcloud.

Thanks Ann

I had a mess with the plugins here, I had to start from scratch again the installation of Sonarqube.

thanks for your help.
