Hi all,

first of all, thank you for the Github authorization plug-in, for us it really helps in using SonarQube efficiently. However, we have found that after starting the application, some email addresses were not displayed, but others were visible. Furthermore, if the missing email addresses were added manually, they were removed on the next login.

This is problematic for us, as we want to use the email alert feature of SonarQube, but it is not useable without an email address.

After some experimentation, I have found that the corresponding setting is setting the public email address in the profile (https://www.evernote.com/l/AALbr71wDQ9Ce5bm5Gl1ju_Q0P8wjXhjnUg). My question is whether it is really necessary to require a public email address for this feature (especially given that SonarQube already asks for my email address being visible), or would it be possible to read at least one (but preferable all) my email addresses from Github?

Thank you,
Zoltán Ujhelyi

Hi Zoltan,

Unfortunately, for the moment, the email should be public in order to benefit from alert and issue assign feature.

A JIRA ticket already exists in order to be able to deal with many emails in SonarQube, but I can't tell you when this will be implemented : https://jira.sonarsource.com/browse/SONAR-7218.

Regards,

Hi Julien,

I understand that handling this is hard. In the meantime, wouldn't it be possible for us to manually set our email address in SonarQube, and it will not get deleted if Github provides no email (I have no problem with overriding if Github auth can provide an address) ?

Thanks,
Zoltán
