Hi SonarQube Community,

SonarSource is very pleased to announce the release of SonarQube 6.2!

The main features and noteworthy of this 6.2 version are:
  • New "Projects" page
    • This page was designed to make it easy to explore the projects available on SonarQube, giving information on their main characteristics in the glimpse of an eye
    • When authenticated, it becomes your landing page - and in that case shows your favorite projects to give you an immediate feeling of their health
  • Enhanced "Issues" page
    • Just as "Projects" shows what matters to you (i.e. your favorite projects) once you've logged in, "Issues" will show by default all the bugs, vulnerabilities and code smells that are assigned to you - sorting them by most recent issues first so that you immediately see your "leak".
    • A nice consequence is that when displayed in the context of a project, the "Issues" page will make it straightforward to actually visualize the "leak" of the project
  • New landing page for non authenticated users
    • SonarQube's new anonymous landing page is designed to introduce users to the main concepts of SonarQube and to encourage them to log in to benefit from the best user experience
  • Consolidated "coverage" features
    • SonarQube merges the unit, integration and overall coverage metrics into a single set of "coverage" metrics to have a unified experience across the different types of projects, whatever the language(s), and whatever the test types
    • Following that direction, SonarQube has now built-in support for its own test and coverage report format - which was previously brought by the Generic Coverage plugin. When coverage tools implement that format natively, integrating their reports will be easier than ever.
  • Webhooks
    • Each time an analysis report is processed, SonarQube can now call a predefined list of webhooks to notify third-party systems of the status of the project that has been analyzed - the payload contains information like the quality gate status
    • This should help implement use-cases like stopping a release pipeline if the project fails its quality gate, or notifying development teams via a chat application
  • Authentication by HTTP Header
    • Thanks to this new built-in feature, it is now possible to benefit from a Single-Sign-On experience in SonarQube using HTTP headers passed by an authentication proxy
  • Rating support in Quality Gates
    • This allows you to express your quality gates in a very meaningful way - like "Security Rating on new Code must be A". The default built-in quality gate (for new instances) now uses ratings.

And obviously as usual, this version comes with lots of bug fixes and other small improvements.

Please read the releases notes and the upgrade notes very carefully.

As usual, download is available at sonarqube.org.

Enjoy!

Hey there,

quick question about the changelog, it lists as new feature
which in turn is part of

MMF - Minimum Marketable Feature MMF-388 [As a Developer] Default landing page: "My Activity" tab in "My Account"

Is this "My Activity" page only visible using the Developer Cockpit Plugin (hence the [As a Developer] part in the Jira title) ?
At least I can't seem to find anything that looks remotely like on the screenshots in MMF 388 :)

Thx in advance and kind regards,
René
