Hoi,

after upgrade from Sonarqube 6.2 to 6.3 and also 6.3.1 the Quality profiles became empty. No rules are activated.

The not empty C# rules for my own created Quality profile "CLM" i got with restore a file backup from version 6.2, for the css this is not working.
When i once edit the parent of my profile to sonar way i get activated rules, also if there are no activated rules for the sonar way. After removing the parent, then the rules were again empty. The C# sonar way i could "restore" with the "Restore Built-in Profiles" function, CSS not.

Aslo the count of activated rules from 120 to 71 in my profile, and the question is it correct that from 6.2 424 C# rules exists, with 6.3.1 only 189 left?

Many thanks for your great work and help!
Joerg

Hi Joerg,

You have most probably forget to not copy paste some folders from your 6.2 installation (See upgrade doc https://docs.sonarqube.org/display/SONAR/Upgrading for more details).
So please remove the {SONARQUBE_HOME}/data folder and restart your server.

Regards,

Hoi Julien,

you are absolutely right, the data folder occured this problem. thousand thanks for this fast reply and solving my problem.

As a hint:
  1. I did not copy the folder, i created a new folder with the new version
  2. installed the needed plugins with the local included database
  3. changed the config to my database and run the update/setup.
After your reply i made it like this:
  1. I created a new folder with the new version
  2. installed the needed plugins with the local included database
  3. After stopping the server, deleted the data folder
  4. Changed the config to my database and run the update/setup.
I think the third point should be attached to the update doc https://docs.sonarqube.org/display/SONAR/Upgrading , or even better, it should not be necessary for the user doing this, should be handled by the software.

Anyways, I'm happy now having the new version runing productive! Thanks again and happy relaxing easter!
Joerg
