[NEW RELEASE] SVG Badges plugin 1.2.0

Dear community,

I'm pleased to announce the release of SVG Badges plugin for SonarQube version 1.2.0. 

Important notes:

• the web service url changed so you need to change the url of preexisting images
• the key of the plugin changed from "status" to "badges" 

Questions to @Ann:

• can you please add this new version to the update center ?
• is there a way to handle the plugin key change in the update center (mark badges 1.2.0 as an update of status 1.1.0?)
• can you please remove all older versions of the plugin from update center (I mean any occurrence of SVG Status plugin)?

Release Notes:

• rename plugin to SVG Badges #13 (based on Fabrice Bellingard's suggestion)
• change badge label from "quality" to "quality gate" #17 (based on David Racoon's idea)
• replace "none" badge image by "not set"
• change web service url from /api/status/image? to /api/badges/gate?
• generate "not found" badge if no analysed project with provided key is found #11 (based on Ann Campbell's suggestion)
• XSL transformation of generated SVG image in order to use client-friendly fonts #19
• optimize SVG image weight #3
• generate specific image when web service requires credentials #15 (reported by Fabrice Bellingard) 
• adapt documentation

• SonarQube 4.5.4+

Of course. :-)

Nope. There are no facilities in the Update Center for this. Existing users will have no idea about the upgrade path unless they happen to see this thread.

 Easily.

It wasn't clear to me from your RC announcement that you were changing not just the published name of the plugin but also its key, and I didn't catch it in my testing. For the reason stated above, this change is regrettable. Before I try to sort through the UC changes to make this happen, I have to ask if it's possible that you might reconsider the key change and issue a point release with the old key restored.

@Ann what about doing the following: release a minor 1.1.2 version that:

• generates an image asking users to uninstall the plugin and to install the new version
• logs at each api call that the administrator should replace the plugin by SVG Badges

Hi Michel,

I've added this to the update center, but pointed it at the 1.2 release notes instead of the 1.2.1 release notes. I'm not sure this is "proper", but my concern is that if I point to the "revert plugin key value" release notes, existing users will miss the rather significant change of url that this version includes.
