Jacoco 0.8.0 is released: https://github.com/jacoco/jacoco/releases/tag/v0.8.0
Is there already a date for a java-plugin release that is able to use the filter feature?

Hello,

yes, we plan to upgrade JaCoCo, here is the ticket you can follow https://jira.sonarsource.com/browse/SONARJAVA-2608 .
This will be most likely released in the next version by the end of January.

Regards,

Tibor

Hello!
The current implementation still follows reading the binary jacoco.exec files.
But as far as i understand https://github.com/jacoco/jacoco/pull/513#issuecomment-293176354 filtering will be only available when using the data from XML.
Filtering happens somehow AFTER exec generation and is only reflected within the XML and HTML output.

Just tell me where to start and how to track my work to have it contributed to the community.

Thanks a lot!

Hello,

this is not necessary, JaCoCo in SonarJava was updated, so this should work out-of-the-box in the next version.

Hey!

Ok cool. So just waiting for the new features of JaCoCo to be enabled within sonar-java 5.1 - wait,

JUST released yesterday! Thanks a lot.

One last question: How can i track when this version of sonar-java makes it into the main SONAR Software?
It needs an update on https://github.com/SonarSource/sonarqube/blob/master/pom.xml right?

Any expectation when this will happen? Or just upgrade a running server with the new plugin version?

Thank you very much!

The upgrade can be done through the Marketplace on your instance of SonarQube, or replacing the version of sonar-java-plugin in the $SONARQUBE_HOME/extensions/plugins directory (both pending a server restart).

This is all assuming you are on the latest LTS of SonarQube (6.7.x), which is a requirement for version 5.x of sonar-java-plugin.
