Hi Team,

We want to implement sonarqube at enterprise level in our organization.

I have questions around SonarQube :-

  1. Does sonar supports cluster database or fail over server implementation?
  2. Can we run multiple instances of sonar-runner in parallel? if so, is there any performance issue we face?
  3. Does the ultimate edition use the same source code as the normal edition?
please let me know if need more clarity on these questions. Thanks!

Regards,
Pushpendra Sahu

Hi

  1. Does sonar supports cluster database or fail over server implementation?
No it does not.

  1. Can we run multiple instances of sonar-runner in parallel?
Yes.

if so, is there any performance issue we face?

Up to version 5.1 (included), the bottleneck is the database. The more concurrent analysis there are, the more the database is solicited.

  1. Does the ultimate edition use the same source code as the normal edition?
If you consider the "normal" edition as the community one, then yes. All the open-source codebase is used as-this, without any modifications. SonarSource editions bring services like support and some close-source plugins.

Hi Simon,

Thanks for the response,

You mentioned about some close-source plugins in the last point. Could you please throw some light on that like what additional feature or capability it adds to the tools.
I did go through the edition comparison pdf but looking for any additional detail you can share.

Is there any way to use sonarqube at enterprise level? , our requirement is multiple users from different projects using sonarqube.
