Hi

I have noticed something that i dont know if it is intended or is a bug.

When i mark something as false positive, the next time i run the scanner, this issue is not reported as an issue, and it remains as a false positive

However, if i mark it as wont fix, the next time i run it, it appears as an issue again

Should this not be persistent and be reported as wont fix in future scanners?

Thanks

Hi,

SonarQube Issue Tracking mechanics are the same, irrespective of whether you closed the issue as FP or Won't Fix. Like any tracking mechanism, it's based on heuristics, so you have to understand there can be limitations to the system. We've done a pretty thorough documentation on this: https://docs.sonarqube.org/display/SONAR/Issue+Lifecycle (see Understanding which issues are "new" section).

Note that this is the documentation of latest version (7.0, similar to 6.7.x LTS on that topic). Older versions may not have as much optimisations (e.g. prior to v6.0 file move/rename was not handled).

Best regards,
Nicolas
