org.codehaus.mojo:sonar-maven-plugin not working with sonarqube 6.6

Hi,

    We are planning to upgrade to sonarqube 6.6 from 6.2. org.codehaus.mojo:sonar-maven-plugin:sonar-maven-plugin 2.5 is throwing below exception because of build number in version. 

It works if I use org.sonarsource.scanner.maven:sonar-maven-plugin:3.4.0.905:sonar .Can you please suggest  / confirm if we cant use org.codehaus.mojo:sonar-maven-plugin. Thanks in advance.

Failed to execute goal org.codehaus.mojo:sonar-maven-plugin:2.5:sonar (id.package) on project xxxx: SonarQube 6.6.0.32724 does not support Maven 3 -> [Help 1]

Hi.

First: there's no reason to upgrade to 6.6. Use 6.7.1 instead, it's the latest LTS version.

About sonar-maven-plugin, please check the documentation: https://docs.sonarqube.org/display/SCAN/Analyzing+with+SonarQube+Scanner+for+Maven

The groupId was changed, now you should use org.sonarsource.scanner.maven:sonar-maven-plugin:3.4.0.905:sonar

      Thanks for the reply. We used codehaus plugin for sonarqube 6.2. Will there be any significant changes in the scan that we need to be aware of or is this just a maven group name change? Thanks.
