plugin hooks query

Hi,

I have been reading through https://docs.sonarqube.org/display/DEV/Adding+Hooks and i'm looking for a way to retrieve a projects issues. I know i can do this through the web api, but i was hoping to create a plugin to do this automatically after every analysis (i need to send payload of info to a data lake). Are there any interfaces i should implement for this or is it best to stick to the web api to retrieve the data.
