Hi Saikat,

If you don't know how to contact support please ping the person who gave you your plugin license for that information.

Hi Saikat,

We're talking about commercial plugins, which require licenses to run. So more than simply downloading them from the internet is required.

Regarding "which support", I meant SonarSource's support.

Hi Ann,

This is not a commercial plugin, it's free(sonar-cobol-plugin-3.4.0.1932). If you need any log from sonar server I can provide you. Please let me know the root cause behind the issue. I presume somehow it's unable to detect the source file.

Thanks

This is a shame. Could you tell me what is restricting you to investigate this issue.

Hi,

SonarCOBOL is a commercial plugin. In order to use it, you need a license. When you have the license, the SonarSource Support Team can help you resolve any problems you may have using it. If you have a license, then you must also have the information to contact our support team directly. If you don't have this license yet, the homepage of SonarCOBOL should get you started.

We don't do technical support for commercial plugins on this mailing list, because we have another dedicated channel for that. Here we only discuss the open-source plugins.

Cheers,
Janos

Hi,

I thought Sonar is open source. We are able to install Sonar plugin without license successfully and it shows all rules present inside that. It's just that while running Sonar scanner we are facing 0 files indexed.

Thanks
Saikat

Hi Saikat,

I think there is a misunderstanding here.

- The SonarQube™ platform is indeed open source and free - as in free beer - to install and use
- Some code analyzers, available out of the box or through the Update Center - e.g SonarJava, SonarJS, SonarPHP - are also open source and free to install and use
- Other code analyzers which are available through the Update Center - e.g SonarCOBOL, SonarCFamily, SonarPLSQL - have a Commercial license: although the artifacts can be downloaded and installed freely, actually using them to analyze a project requires an activation key, as per the Terms and Conditions - which you have most probably accepted by checking the box in the Update Center before installing SonarCOBOL.

Now, as Ann and Janos previously pointed out: there is not much more we can do on this Google Group.

Please don't get me wrong: while we would love to help you here with the operation of our open source products, for commercial products we have a dedicated team of professionals who can provide you with support. If you wish to try SonarCOBOL, the link to the contact page is available on the product's home page.

Kind regards,
-- Jean-Baptiste
