Hi Sonarqube community,

I am trying to use Sonarqube Web API, and ran into some issues with authenticating to the API. Would appreciate some guidance on the issue.

- Generated user token going to My Account --> Security --> Generate New Token
- Per the documentation here https://docs.sonarqube.org/display/DEV/Web+API, and here https://sonarcloud.io/web_api/api/authenticatio, tried the request to check credentials

I get the following message:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">

<html><head>

<title>303 See Other</title>

</head><body>

<h1>See Other</h1>

<p>The answer to your request is located <a href="https://SonarqubeserverURL/endpoint/login?ReturnTo=https%3A%2F%2FSonarqubeserverURL%2Fapi%2Fauthentication%2Fvalidate&amp;IdP=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.okta.com%2Fexk1778evlylH8os91d8">here</a>.</p>

</body></html>

- Even tried with MY_Login:My_Password, but receive the same error. I sign in to Sonarqube through okta

- I am under Sonar-users from my user profile.

How do I solve this issue?

Thanks,
Vivek

Hi Vivek,

That response isn't coming from SonarQube. I would guess it originates with Okta. Have you tried signing in to SonarQube directly?
