Assuming I have:
- A running SonarQube server, which I can log in to via web browser
- A working Eclipse STS installation, which has correct proxy configuration and can access the net (eg, for Maven/gradle downloads)
- Via SonarQube Servers view, selected "Connect to a SonarQube server...", entered correct Sonar base URL, correct user / password credentials ...

Why might I get an error, "Fail to request" ?

Hi Stewart,

Could be because of a self signed SSL certificate for example. Don't you have a more detailed error message in logs?

Hi Julien,

The Eclipse logs don't show anything particular that I can see. A colleague using Intellij SonarLint plugin has no problems accessing the SonarQube server.

I thought it might be related to the corporate proxy, but I'm not sure. I've tried with the proxy configured and excepted.

I don't have any control over the SonarQube server, so it's not easy to investigate any server logs. The server is operating on https with a proper valid cert.

Regards,

Stewart

One way to investigate would be to add -Djavax.net.debug=all to Eclipse VM parameters (in eclipse.ini).

There are some tips here:

Amazing. I've tried both methods - -Djavax.net.debug and  console launch - and in both cases it adds nothing new to the .log file.   :(
