Hi,

We've just released SonarLint for VSCode 1.3.0, it's available in the marketplace or on GitHub.

The main new feature is connected mode. You can connect SonarLint to SonarQube >= 5.6 or SonarCloud to benefit from the same rules and settings that are used to inspect your project on the server. SonarLint then hides in VSCode the issues that are marked as Won’t Fix or False Positive. To configure the connection, have a look at SonarLint in default user settings.

Also added basic support for multi-root workspaces. Previously only the first workspace folder got analyzed.

Finally, the embedded analyzers have been updated to their latest & greatest versions:
  • SonarJS 4.0.0.5862 -> 4.1.0.6085
  • SonarTS 1.5.0.2122 -> 1.6.0.2388
  • SonarPHP 2.12.0.2871 -> 2.13.0.3107
  • SonarPython 1.8.0.1496 -> 1.10.0.2131
The complete release notes are here.

Enjoy!
Janos

Yes! It's finally here. I've been waiting so long for this. Thanks a bunch.

Just a heads up for everyone you need to restart your vs code before the changes take effect.

Thanks for implementing. Been waiting for this.

Having some issues though trying to setup. On settings.json. After adding the properties as per https://jira.sonarsource.com/browse/MMF-1252 it comes up with unknown configuration setting.

Also if I try to run the Update Servers and Binding command through the command palette it can't find it.

I've also updated to the latest vs code just to make sure it wasn't that.

Hi Paul,

The exact name of the command in the palette is "Update SonarLint binding to SonarQube/SonarCloud". If you don't see it then something's wrong with the installation of the extension. Try to reinstall it.

How do you edit the settings.json file? I suggest to edit inside VSCode itself. That way you can use control + space to autocomplete property names such as sonarlint.connectedMode.servers and sonarlint.connectedMode.project. If these names don't get auto-completed, then either something's wrong with the installation, or you're not editing the correct node in the configuration.

I hope this helps, let me know how it goes.

Cheers,
Janos
