Hello,

until now I could deactivate the console by selecting "show console - never". But that seems not to work anymore since the update to 2.0
Is there another way? For me the console is quite annoying when I am not actually using sonarlint.

Thanks

Hi,

There was indeed some changes regarding console management. The console will always be created (while previously it was lazy loaded) so if you open the Console view you will always see the SonarLint console. What the option "show console - never" means is that the console should never gain focus by itself.

Can you precise what is annoying to you? Does the console gain focus? Or is it "just" the fact it is present in Console view?

Thanks for feedback,

Julien

Thanks for the fast answer.
I am using the console with 2 apps and I always check if both are running with the symbol to switch through the consoles. so if it is disabled I know one programm is down. since the sonarlint console is always there the button is never disabled.
Why did you change the console from beeing lazy loaded to  always loaded?

It was buggy: closing the console using the X would make it "leak" in the background. It was then impossible to get logs again without restarting Eclipse. Also the way to make it lazy was a "hack" on top of standard Eclipse Console mechanism so I decided it was safer to go back to a standard implementation instead of trying to fix the hack.

Hi,

I am also suffering from this simpton. Sonarlint console continously updating the default console view even if I check the "Never" option in "Show Console". The Run/Debug -> Console option "Show when program writes to standard out/error" does not work either.

Did you find any workaround for this problem?

Hi guys,

Sorry for late reply. Just to let you know the message is passed:

I'll try to fix the behavior (without reintroducing the previous leak of course :) ).
