After emerging from WWI as a world leader, America was setting the pace for what was to come. The Wrigley Building was completed in Chicago, women were given the right to vote, and Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart were taking to the skies, forever changing the fabric of our nation. Amidst this exciting time there was much to celebrate for one young family from Rudyard, Michigan, since they were pleased to announce the birth of their daughter on December 5, 1922. Gertrude Grace was welcomed into the arms of her parents, John and Anna (Kamper) Postma, and was the only girl in a family of four boys. Her father operated a rather large farm so from a young age Gertrude became a student of gardening and what it takes to have a successful yield. She was also responsible for her fair share of chores that centered on farming. She learned to milk the cows, but it was something she was never really fond of. She loved being outside, however, especially tending to the strawberries, raspberries, or maple syrup in the spring. Gert attended a local school nearby the family home and was later on to Rudyard High School. After graduating from high school, Gert worked at a local grocery in addition to helping out on the farm.

Throughout their married life, Gert and Pete loved to travel. In their younger years they packed their car with their tent and a few necessities and headed all over the United States, eventually making it to every state and Canadian province. Together they also traveled the world with their destinations including Central America, Asia, and Europe. One of their most memorable trips was the one when she and Pete were separated in Japan when the train left before he was on it. Their retirement years provided them with the opportunity for even more consistent travel.

There were many things to love about Gert. She was a great listener who was readily available and always someone who could be trusted. At times Gert could be strong willed and not afraid to voice her opinion, especially when it came to matters she was passionate about. She was outgoing, hospitable, and loved having company over whether for a short time or a more extended stay.

Shweta - To be fair, the reason why I like Paap is because I've seen the original movie, Witness -- I found Witness very boring. I loved how Pooja Bhatt turned the film around as I mentioned to make it more of a Kaaya movie and to show off the beautiful location of Spiti. If you didn't like Paap, trust me, you won't like Witness. ;P

Darshit - I know, I love the music. You're right. It introduced awesome Pakistani music. I just love how the movie captured beautiful elements of the movie. You should give it another watch. :)

Paap is a love story of the earthy (read erotic) kind. The attraction between Shiven and Kaaya is purely physical. For someone with such a puritanical upbringing, Kaaya's fantasies are incredibly tantalising.

A Moon in stress makes the personality go either way. One is either the sufferer or the perpetrator. eg If one was neglected emotionally, he might be rather gullible, believe someone who offers him sympathy, not logically think on what could be the real motives. Or he can go the other extreme where his emotional responses to life are stunted and he will behave in an emotionally hurtful manner to some one who genuinely loves him later.

Kees Paap played an extremely important role in several animal welfare initiatives, including the De Hof van Ede animal shelter, where he was actively engaged behind the scenes in securing legacies and donations to enable the animals to have the best possible level of care.
Their love for animals eventually led Kees and Trees to set up the 'Abri voor Dieren' foundation to which they bequeathed a considerable portion of their assets.

Kaya (Udita Goswami) and her father live near a Buddhist monastery. He has hopes that she will one day join the monastery and live a holy life. Kaya is sent to Delhi to retrieve their reincarnated Lama and bring him back. On their way, the Lama becomes the sole witness to the murder of a police officer. Detective Shiven (John Abraham) is assigned the case and uncovers some serious implications. He is shot as he is helping Kaya and the Lama get back to the monastery, and when they reach there he needs to be nursed back to health. Eventually love blooms between Kaya and Shiven, but will she choose him or the life she has been raised to live?

I also absolutely love the different look of Udita Goswami. Her eyes have a little Asian influence and she is just beautiful. I also think the clothes she wears in the film are so amazing. I would love to have a whole wardrobe of them.

So funny, the stuff that bugged you! ? I thought some things were wrong about that film too. John Abraham is nice to look at and that actress is just stunning, but something was just a little off about the story. He was asking her to leave her home and family, to disobey the wishes of her father and community, and that is a very un-Indian theme. And BOY, was that love scene steamy!

Definitely an un-Indian theme, but Kaya was obviously unhappy with this lifestyle and wanted more (starting with the first song and scenes). He could have been more understanding for sure. And that love scene was very un-Indian as well ;).

The song has already received a lot of love and has crossed 2.4 million views on YouTube. Paap is a Times Music and Speed Records exclusive release and is available to watch/listen on Speed Records YouTube channel.
