Leather sandals are exciting and fashionable footwear during the summer season or all year, if you live in an environment that allows you to wear them year-round. Unfortunately, however, leather sandals could become stained or develop an upsetting odor. Luckily, these sandals might be cleaned easily. Follow these tips to restore your leather sandals to their original color and condition.
Treated Leather Sandals:
Dampen a cloth. Convey a nickel-sized amount of moisturizing body soap or hand soap around the cloth.
Rub the cloth together until it forms hook lather. Wipe the lather lightly on your own sandals.
Dampen another clean cloth and wipe away the soap gently. Work with a towel to dry the sandal.
Place the sandals outside and let them dry in the sun. Use a leather conditioner to obtain the sandals back to their original polish. Follow instructions around the label carefully to make sure you got a new leather cleaner that is befitting your shoes.
Untreated Leather Sandals
Dampen a cloth and set a dime-sized amount of saddle soap about it. Work it into a lather by rubbing the cloth together.
Gently rub the lather on the sandals. Wipe away the soap which has a clean damp cloth and dry with a towel.
Place the sandals in the sun to dry. Rub leather preservative around the leather in order to bring it to its original shine. Follow directions around the particular product you choose for your sandals.
Wipe away odor. Mix one teaspoon of vinegar with a single serving of warm water. Dampen a cloth together with the mixture and wipe the sandals with it. Vinegar will eat the bacteria and help to kill the odor in your sandals. Let them dry out in the sunshine.
Warnings:
Before cleaning your sandals, be sure you test on a small area of the shoe. Leather can easily be discolored, depending on the type and make, so test the mixtures over a tiny area of the sandal before using about the entire sandal.
