I had the Z fold 4 with one ui 6, and I converted my physical Sim to an esim, but I want to know if I have to reset my phone, will the reset remove the esim. If anyone has an idea, please let me know

Today I bought an esim through an app (a very reputable service ). The app attempted to install the esim itself; I clicked allow when prompted to grant permission, but then the application said that it had failed the installation and I should try manually. I received the QR code, but when I went to the SIM manager in the settings, it gave an error saying, "Wait for your eSIM to finish being set up before using the SIM manager.". I now cannot access the SIM manager. I have tried the following things:

esim factory reset samsung

I don't know how to disengage the existing esim, as I cannot access the SIM manager to turn it off. I don't know how to stop that error message from appearing. If someone could help me, I would be deeply grateful.

@gamessty: Have you tried reaching out to the network who activated your previous/existing eSIM to see if they're able to de-activate it from their side. If the problem persists, try restarting the phone in Safe Mode to see if you're able to access your SIM card manager settings. To enter Safe Mode, press and hold the Power button until the 'Power off' prompt appears on the screen then release > Touch and hold Power off until the 'Safe mode' prompt appears then release > To confirm, tap Safe mode. To exit Safe Mode, restart your S22 device as you would normally.

I haven't been able to find a solution to the problem, I have tried @AndrewL's proposed solutions, and neither worked. I'm going to factory reset my phone this weekend with the hope that this will solve the problem. I will first do a backup to my phone, both on my laptop and on the cloud. It's inadmissible that I have to resort to a factory reset on a high-end last-gen Samsung phone. I will post something after, if it works. Hopefully!

Ok! So, since my last post there have been some further developments, let's say. I started backing up my phone through various cloud providers with the intent of factory resetting it, after that it crossed my mind that I should also back it up on my laptop, this is when on Smart Switch on my PC the possibility of performing an Update appeared. I quickly accepted T&C etc. and waited for the update to be done and installed, hoping that this kind of force restart would trigger some resetting of the eSim settings. Unfortunately not even that worked. So I carried on with the factory resetting (it was painful). The factory resetting worked like a charm (eh not so much), the backups did half the job, but I can now finally say that my phone works like before. I am now able to access my SIM manager and I have successfully installed an eSIM and accessed it. I am so disappointed that I have to resort to such "primitive" troubleshooting for what is an easy to make mistake. I wish you all luck and I hope that in the future Samsung improves the eSIM experience.

You can follow these steps to complete a factory reset on your eSIM-compatiable iPhone. Go to 'Settings' > 'General' > 'Reset' > 'Erase All Content and Settings' > 'Erase iPhone' >'Erase All and Keep Mobile Plans'.

Exact same thing happened to mine on Thursday, Lycamobile e-sim has completely broken the network feature of my S22 and I cant delete the e-sim. Physical sims no longer work either and I have the same no entry sign.

My phone is actually with Samsung (TMT First) at the minute and if your phone has any cosmetic damage on it then I'm afraid you now own a very expensive paperweight because the warranty isn't going to cover the cost and you need a new subPBA (whatever that is).

Having exactly the same issue, tried removing the esim I bought from airlo and it won't go. Even after factory reset. Physical sim not recognising so phones essentially useless. Did you get it repaired by samsung?

Factory resetting your smartphone can be a powerful troubleshooting tool, especially when your device starts acting up. However, if you currently have eSIMs installed in your device, you might be wondering whether it is safe to perform a factory reset on your device, and what will happen to your eSIM after the factory reset. After all, a factory reset entails a data wipe, and that includes your eSIM...or not.

A factory reset is a process that restores your smartphone to its original settings, essentially erasing all the data and customized settings you've accumulated on the device. It can be a powerful troubleshooting method when dealing with software issues.

Here's the good news: It's perfectly safe to perform a factory reset, and it is mostly up to you whether you want to retain your eSIM profiles when doing a factory reset. When doing a factory reset, most devices will ask if you want to retain your eSIM profiles.

On the other hand, if you choose to erase all data, then all your eSIM profiles will be deleted alongside the other information in your device. It is important to note that what gets deleted isn't the actual eSIM, but just the eSIM profiles. The actual eSIM is a hardware component embedded within your device, and is designed to be a permanent part of your smartphone's hardware which can't be deleted by a factory reset. However, the eSIM profiles, which contains the information that is necessary to establish the connection with your network provider will be what gets deleted.

When you are doing a factory reset to solve software issues, it is likely that you will want to continue using your phone after the reset. In such cases, it is important for you to retain your eSIM profiles so you can continue using it to establish connections with your network operator.

Doing a factory reset and removing your eSIM profile will essentially delete the eSIM profile and remove it from your phone. Your line with your operator isn't terminated, but because the eSIM profile is no longer installed in your phone, your device would not be able to establish connection with the network.

If you did not select the option to retain your eSIM profile and it was accidentally removed, you should contact your network operator. Some network operators allow you to reinstall your eSIM directly from your device by selecting the profile that has been created for your device during the set-up process, but other operators may require you to contact them to get another set of installation kit.

If you are doing a factory reset on your phone because you want to sell your device off, it is recommended that you first speak to your operator to transfer your eSIM profiles to your new device before doing a factory reset on the old one.

If your phone has an eSIM (electronic SIM), when performing a factory reset for troubleshooting, you must choose to keep your eSIM. This will guarantee your access to the Xfinity Mobile network is not removed.

I have had a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra for 2+ years now. The phone has no damage and until a week ago had no issues. Then suddenly, I have NO service. The moment I disconnect from wifi, zero bars, "Emergency Calls Only". After days of going back and forth with Verizon support and visiting Verizon stores, installing multiple eSIMs and physical SIMs, network resets, and factory reset, still no service.

I eventually discovered that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a known issue with the antenna, and Verizon is aware of this issue, as confirmed by Verizon support. Now, the solution should be to get a warranty replacement of the phone, but today I was told that the "Verizon warehouse" is out of stock for that device. In addition, no one can provide me a definitive date when it will be in stock.

I have had the EXACT same issue! And literally have been through 15 reps and diagnostics, new SIM cards, virtual SIM cards, Account level escalations, etc.
I was told to buy the extended warranty for my phone, pay the deductible, and then request a replacement?

Don't bother going to AT&T. My wife is having this same issue with her S22 Ultra and is getting the same run around by AT&T and Samsung. I think everyone who's having this issue needs to blow up social media platforms until Samsung does something about this. Clearly just calling them isn't getting it fixed.

I have S22 Ultra, S8 Plus, and an iPhone 12 Max all on the same plan. The S22 Ultra is the only one experiencing non connectivity. I can on make/receive calls, text, data when on wifi. Occasionally it will work without wifi, but the bars jump from 4G, 5G to 0 and everything in between within seconds and give me an error that states that the device is not connected to the network. I have made multiple calls to Verizon, visited a store twice with in minutes of being told the problem was solved after the verizon agent reset the network, changed out the sim card, updated eSim, factory reset and the problem persists.

Personally, my issue began back in August. So I've been paying for "unlimited data/talk/text" for 6+ months w/o receiving services. My phone will only function on Wifi so once I disconnect from a wifi network I cannot text, call or use the internet. So basically it becomes useless. I have switched out SIM cards, done restarts, manually disconnected data and turned back on, turned airplane mode on and off, etc. NOTHING WORKS. I have been to 3 separate Verizon stores and noone can help me. The only thing they tried to do was sell me a new phone or told me to file a claim. Which I would have done, but after this problem began, my daughter dropped the phone and now there's a crack in the screen so of course I have to pay either way now. So now I am just waiting out my contract so I can switch to a different provider. I have been with Verizon for 20+ years and they couldn't do us the courtesy of informing us all of this KNOWN antenna issue and compensated us accordingly? So now I have lost all faith and trust in their reliability and transparency. Shame on them.
