Fortrips exceeding 15 miles from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) that don't end within city limits, the fare will be 150 percent of the metered rate, except for those trips from SFO going through San Francisco and ending in Marin County or the East Bay. The 15-mile limit will apply only after you have passed through San Francisco and gone 15 miles outside the city limit.

In any case of fare dispute between the Driver and passenger(s), the Driver shall call the Police or, with the consent of the passenger, convey the passenger(s) to the nearest police station, where the officer in charge shall immediately decide the case

A driver may charge a flat rate of up to $20 per person where two or more passengers are taking a trip whose origin or destination are different, and who are sharing the taxi for a portion of their combined trips instead of charging the metered rate. The flat rate may only be used with the advance consent of all affected passengers

The upfront fare pricing program will allow customers to request rides through one of the approved E-Hail applications: Arro, YoTaxi, and Flywheel. Each app will provide customers with an upfront fare that is based on the estimated taximeter amount, and payment will be processed through the app.

The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) has implemented a pilot program allowing licensed E-hail providers to offer upfront pricing in all participating yellow and green taxicabs .In addition to metered fares, passengers riding in Medallion taxicabs and Street Hail Liveries (SHLs) will now have the option to receive binding fare quotes when completing an E-Hail request.

A meter inside the taxi calculates the cost of your ride and displays the fare. The cost of a taxi ride in Seattle is regulated, and each taxi charges the same fares. All meters print a receipt showing the charges for your trip.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) offers both Flat Rate Taxis and Metered Taxis. Metered taxis charge per mile/time and can be identified with a three-digit vehicle number and are painted a single color. Flat rate taxis offer a flat rate based off zip code and use a four-digit vehicle number and are painted in two colors.

In the event two or more passengers enter the taxicab at the beginning of the trip and the destinations are not the same, all passengers shall pay a pro-rated portion of the flat rate fare. And, the passenger(s) whose destination is to a location other than the one listed below shall pay the fare computed on the meter for the remainder of the trip.

A 30 percent surcharge above the taxicab meter rate is established for larger vehicles (sport utility vehicles and vans). This surcharge does not apply to wheelchair accessible vehicles providing taxicab services to wheelchair users. Vehicles authorized to charge the 30 percent surcharge shall display a 30 percent surcharge decal inside the vehicle.

Passengers at MIA are advised to ignore offers of transportation from solicitors inside the terminal. Solicitation of ground transportation is an illegal activity and many illegal solicitors are unlicensed and uninsured. To obtain safe and legitimate ground transportation, please be sure to go to the designated Taxi stands located at the lower-level curb, outside of the baggage claim area, where uniformed Miami-Dade Aviation Department staff members will be happy to assist you.

There is a $40.00 Flat Rate in effect for trips from the Downtown Seattle Hotel District to SeaTac Airport. Please refer to the map above for the boundaries pertaining to this rate. Additionally, depending on the current price of gas, there may be a surcharge of $1 or more per trip. The driver cannot collect on this unless it is clearly marked on the dashboard as you enter and happens very rarely.

Calculating taxi prices can be useful for a number of reasons. For many passengers, it is important to know before the trip how expensive it will be in order to assess whether the taxi is a reasonable transport option for the planned route.

Usually it is obligatory for taxis to take the shortest route between start and destination. Often, however, a slightly longer route is much faster because highways or expressways are used, or because there is less traffic on the alternative route. If different routes are reasonable, it is possible to choose between the fastest and the shortest route.

For each tariff, the tariff components necessary for calculating the price are stored: the basic charge, the graduated distance charges, traffic-dependent standing and waiting time charges, and any surcharges and fixed prices.

Based on this information, the estimated cab fare is now calculated. This takes into account both the basic and distance charges as well as the traffic-dependent charges. The latter are included in the calculation with varying weightings.

In order to constantly improve the estimates, we have been using actual fares in many different tariff areas and times of day and year for several years. These are automatically compared with previous price estimates using statistical methods.

Flat-rate fare taxi are a service which allows passengers to use taxis within areas between usage locations and Haneda Airport Terminal for set fares which are indicated in advance. With normal taxis, heavy traffic and detours tend to drive fares higher, however with Flat-rate fare taxis, displaying a fixed fare in advance eliminates the worry about "not knowing the exact fare until arriving at the destination" by just looking at the meter amount, so this is being deployed as an easy to understand service for customers.

Taxis from operators which have received outstanding evaluations in terms of both safety and service are available from the Haneda Airport Terminal 3 taxi stand 24 hours a day. Flat-rate fare taxi are applied when riding from the airport taxi stands (for designated areas only).

Nigel! Your comment made me go back and look at the website to see if there is any surcharge for the Olympics time frame. I remembered the Metro/Bus prices will almost double during that time frame but doesn't look like that will happen with the taxis.

@dkolikof - You may just have used the wrong terms but you don't want to exchange cash for Euro. IF you want cash you will want to use your Debit card at an ATM to get cash for a better exchange rate.
